Welcome Spring

Spring is here when the Cherry Blossoms bloom!
Spring is here when the Cherry Blossoms bloom!

The first of every season, I buy myself some flowers. Recently I’ve been hearing that this is one way to romanticize your life. I guess being romantic means bringing some joy into your life because I think fresh flowers make everything feel much better. Here is my list of ways to welcome Spring and celebrate a new season.

·    Bring the outside in and decorate the house with nature from outside. Go ahead and display those spring flowers: daffodils, tulips, iris, pansies, pussy willows, forsythia

·       Plan some spring menus with the first fruits and vegetables of the season such as: strawberries and asparagus and rhubarb!

·       Wash the winter woollies, sweaters and linens to put away for the summer

·       Give the car a good cleaning inside and out

·       Plan a Spring brunch get together. Yumm.

·       Design the garden – get out that garden journal, browse the plant magazines for and decide on flowers, fruits and vegetable seeds

·       Make plans for summer entertaining, adventures and vacations

·    Remove those heavy quilts and blankets

·    Spring clean - it makes everything feel fresher, lighter, brighter, newer

·    Take down that Christmas tree finally and/or decorations and put away all leftover winter décor

·    Switch out the candles for spring scented ones

·    Get back to walking

·    Open the windows!
