Nothing Gold Can Stay
Robert Frost
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

The Comfort Book
by Matt Haig
When you don’t have your bestie on hand, when you don’t have words of wisdom from your mother, when you are missing that comforting advice at a troubling time, grab this book. Keep it by your bedside. It will be your comfort in a storm, the warm blanket you need when feeling cold or down. Flip to any page and it will refresh, inspire or provide you with insight into life’s conundrums.
Not a novel, not non-fiction but a series of comforting anecdotes, stories, quotes and thoughtful information.
The Fighter Within
by Denise Lowe
The Fighter Within provides the reader with comfort in knowing they're not alone, and hope to overcome adversity as well as joy in learning practical tips to move forward one day at a time. Get ready to be inspired! An easy and uplifting read for any age.

When Things Fall Apart
by Pema Chodron
Sometimes you have to revisit older literature to be reminded of thoughts that have crossed your mind. Sometimes you know the answer but just need to hear it again. This book is a feel good, provides some insight into how to cope with life’s difficult moments, and leaves you feeling uplifted. Chodron is not preachy and provides easy to read prose. I enjoyed it.

Laundry Love,
Finding Joy in a Common Chore
by Patric Richardson with Karin B. Miller
I can’t believe I found a book about doing laundry fascinating, but it was. Some shocking and amazing discoveries. Who would have thought? Laundry can be fun. There were many amazing things I learned from reading this book but the most is that a red wine stain is very easy to remove from a tablecloth. You do not need to freak out, jump up from your dinner party and start scrubbing.
It gave me the solutions to saving time on housework, saving money on products, shopping and caring for clothes, linens, and entertaining.
Patric proves that there is no such thing as a stain disaster. By the end of the book, I was sold. Never thought I would learn to love laundry. An easy, fun read.

The Rise of Rage
by Julie A. Christiansen

I must admit I have not read the whole book. However, I accidentally, when flipping through it, landed on the explanation of why Will Smith, in March of 2022 walked up to Chris Rock at the Live Academy Awards ceremony and smacked him in the face.
It was interesting to read the emotional and physiological reason that possessed him to play out such outrageous behaviour.
This book is about how to resolve anger and achieve emotional and relationship mastery. Anger and rage seem to be on the rise these days. Why? And Niagara’s Julie A. Christiansen writes about how to deal with it.

The Creative Act, A Way of Being
by Rick Rubin
A beautiful resource for the creative mind. Presents an eye-opening slant on what it means to be creative, provides unique motivating thoughts about life, passion and working towards creative outcomes. A book you would love to have in your library when attempting to solve creative dilemmas and move forward. A recommended inspirational read for your well-being, especially the artist in you.

The most interesting account of how a simple act such as breathing correctly can change your life. And make a different with everything from anxiety to Asma and sleep disorders and help you perform at your optimum both physically and mentally.
It was well written, easy to read, contained fascinating facts and research that anyone would benefit from in their everyday life. Highly recommended.
