Chocolate Chip Cookies for Two

The perfect treat to share or not to share when you just have a cookie craving and don’t want to make/or shouldn’t make 3 dozen cookies.
INGREDIENTS
¼ cup salted butter, softened (585 g)
3 tbsp (50 g) brown sugar
2 tbsp (25 g) white granulated sugar
1 egg yolk (room temperature)
1 tbsp (15 g) heavy cream (room temp)
½ tsp (2 g) vanilla
½ cup + 1 tbsp (68 g) all purpose flour
½ tsp (2 g) cornstarch
¼ tsp (1 g) baking soda
Pinch of salt
½ cup (100 g) semi sweet chocolate chips
½ cup (65 g) shelled walnuts, roughly chopped
Flakey sea salt for topping
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 375ﹾ F.
Line baking sheet with parchment paper – set aside
1. In a small bowl, whisk flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
2. In med bowl, cream butter, both sugars until light and fluffy. About 2 minutes.
3. Add the egg yolk, cream and vanilla and beat until combined.
4. Add dry ingredients to the wet and fold until just incorporated. Do not overmix.
5. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts until evenly dispersed.
6. Divide the dough into 2 large dough balls and shape into a loose ball. And place on cookie sheet.
7. Bake 375ﹾ F for 14-18 minutes until golden and crispy on the edges yet still slightly soft and gooey in the middle. Cool on sheet for 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm sprinkled with flakey sea salt and a glass of milk, if desired.
Yield: 2 large cookies or I made 6 smaller ones. Yummy!
